General Information

We have various options, depending on where you are arriving from, to get to our stunning location. These can be arranged by us or by you.

  • By Road: The road along the west coast is one of the most dramatic in the country. Punakaiki is 4hrs 15mins drive from Christchurch, 40mins from Greymouth and 3hrs 45mins from Nelson.

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking with us and we accept payment via all major credit cards or direct deposit to our bank account. If you are booking less than 30 days from the first day of your journey, you will be expected to pay the full cost with your booking.

We highly recommend you obtain your own travel insurance in case of unforeseen circumstances and we strongly suggest choosing a policy that will cover sickness or unpredictable circumstances that may require you to change your plans. Please remember that you are booking a package that is non-refundable and non-transferable should an unplanned situation arise. Consider your insurance covers:

  • Cancellation fees and lost deposits
  • accidents, illness, injury, hospitalisation or evacuation
  • Luggage and personal effects
  • Travel delay and alternative expenses
  • Personal liability
  • Global crisis or pandemic

We are more than happy to cater to your individual dietary and medical needs. Please make sure you disclose fully any medical conditions you have when completing the medical forms sent to you before your journey.

Along with this, we will ask you about your dietary preferences. This will allow us to cater to your individual needs while you are on your journey.

We are always happy to answer any questions you have about your journey via email or phone. Once you have confirmed your booking, we will get in touch with you and gather more information from you to make your experience unique.

To help you disconnect from your everyday life and reconnect to self and to your stunning natural environment, we have created a mobile free space. The use of mobile devices is restricted to your room and we encourage you to not use these at all during your stay.

We are also a strictly cigarette/vape and drug free environment and unless stated in the journey package, our beverages are all alcohol free.

A big part of our journeys is connecting with nature. Please have a look at our suggested packing list so you have the gear needed to be comfortable during your journey.
